Also Performances by me and others at Said exhibition. Friday2nd omniverses comp artists play the openning, then on Saturday the 3rd the pre mentioned premiair of KKRissKrustofffistoN. Then 3 act gigs every saturdy from 2:30 (sat:3,10,17,24,31). With the play "Weekend at Burzum's" closeing things off on the 31st.

Thanx to the groo groo great SlamDunk tribute act and alex for makeing the uda half of the reformed slamdunk aka alley oop. It went amazingly well and was really nice lead up to the monthorah set. Which was verry trance like, and posibly not the best lead in to the party vibes, but a nice spiritual clenseing of the space, ready for the dirty danceing that followed.

No one came to see my Mostlandia performance, except a bunch of melbourne festival biddies and the nice folk from Mostlandia. The performance of their national anthem went in a off kilter direction of five to six different sections, not unlike the short tracks on Little More, and went for about five minutes, when i am nerious i seem to have a pretty short atention span, but this lack of consentration can be nicely disorientating to the audience posibly. So maybe it suited this novelty format, i have been listening to a lot of new waver and weird al yankovick of late this may have something to do with it.? I have posted some drafts of my hip hopera album that will be out next year, on my myspazz page (see links), just sceletal at the moment. OOPS whats iz was going to get at/excuse was the lack of a public 10/10 monthorah....Basickly i felt in relation to not only haveing a performance the night before, but also due to the nature of my two last performances, do a 10second performance with out an audeence, sep me. This was probaly a lame self afimation in a sense, but gave me a nice breath, and took my voice back from the wires and branches.

PS i am performing aT the melbourne town hall and oates on tuesday the 17th at 5pm, as part MOSTs project i will be writting and perfoming an anthum for Mostlandia.

Live performance is a difficult think, public interaction in general is kind of tricky. Knowing how much to give, and how people will take it is something that comes over time, and is posibly never really felt at the delivery of action. My last two performances ocupied a space which is somewhat imbedded in this previous statement. they were verry public, yes, but also quite inwardly private. In the bell tree performance my voice, and part of me was forced to interact withh the kids who decided to collabirate and interact over the top of the performance, but i was also thus forced into the background. Voice is something that seems to end up in the background within the enviroments i assume most of us occupy, instramental music (with the inclusion of sunging) can, but is interated a lot as entertainment of sometype, and in a live setting, deffinatly a focus point.

On the radio also, as a matthew mentioned to me; talking going into performance released me from defined end and start points. in the tree this was realised durring the performance by the "interuption" and on the radio it was the start-endlessness. Also on radio, the focus placed on the medium and the posibility of others stubleing along the dial is an important componant. Which reminds me of Simon Denny's Performance i saw in Christchurch the day before my performance , moveing a 4x2 to affect the reception of a small portable radio, something that i have done at home messing about (manually not with a plank, or as a performance). I like to think of my live to air or the first 75 track on "little more" (my new album on sabbathicool) as occupying this space, little blips in itunes random. As parralell universes entering ours to be seen once or zillions of times.

It is somewhat the same in the tree performance, in a some what romantic peter pan type fashion. And all this is of course a reflection of randomness and/or posibility, and the massive beauty of it.

So if the string within atoms is seen as a loop or drone which does follow a strict orbit does omnipersence follow a mixture of cyclical and chaotic tridrectories simular to this, and if so is this a more realistic way to veiw music, within culture this of couse takes on the misculanious nature of post modernism, but within the non-objective aspects of sound ie sonics and other stuff, and also the over lap of spirtual, synathesia and pyshicality there seems to be a need to swing towards a quazy quotium physicks. in writing this i a realising that there is probally a lot of discussion of this within the sound arts, but i am thinking more in a abstracting of attitudes, day to day listenning, spirtualising and melting of minds and bodies into something singular if not for a moment enternalised. OOps now this is manifestoing but i digress, if you veiw teers in string/time as mini bigbangs is this not posible in sound, and if you veiw the big band as god, then ruptures in time are most hevenly and divine i would think, not that this is a firm grounded manifesto, but this is some off the grander asperations i have with MofFarFarRah.

ITS BEEN A LONG TIME

Sorry to anyone waiting on a adress for 8.8.06, but i have been a bit lapse on my blog as late, brobaly be cause of bloody my myspack page... which has some mp3s on it if you follow the link.

i digress, month o eight o eight o rah was quite an endurance test, clocking in at 88minutes of contiual vocal accapelistick drone. A small group of listeners, observers and hanger outers where in atendence, but this was quite an internal experiance for me....with some thing other than people, maybe it's all the anti humanist crustcore ive been listening to, but more of a etherial nature bore witness to the true sonic experance of the 88minutes. the mortal audence where in cremone, a small subburb within richmond, that almost dosent exist, not to it's own postcode anyway. They were quite reseptive, although it was quite enevatable that they would eventually become an audence to themaselves and leave me in dialog within my relms, alas alack the consentration span of 20minutes without ads.

9.9.06 will be at j-z's house in nicholson street, but will most likely be for 9minutes insteed of 99, or posibly it will be 9hours.

07/07/06 FOR REAL THIS TIME

so i realise i didn't actually touch on 07/07/06 monthorah in my last post, t'was the day of my birth only 26 years later at 7:07. A last minute change for 7:00 was necisery and fine, as it was an un anounced performance during octopus(=8)(on the 7th)06 at gertrude street contempary artspace. Unfazed by the probaly beter time change, the performance lasted 7minutes, with a guest spot by some crazy "party monster" -esk club kid (techniquly probaly club crazed uncle), who was subsequently scared off by a death rattle eminating from the crevaces of my throat. No devine tingles ala bus performance, but a resting and comparting of nerves and time in accapellarity.

My dad (Richard) and his partner Janice really enjoyed it, and she is in a choir, and thus it is nice to get tech props, all others i discussed it with were positive, so success i guess. A while after this there was a party (birthday) at my house, which included 2 interprative dances which i fell were an extention of MOR7, the first a solo performance by me to' don't stop me now by Queen' which was somehow a phsyical release of the controled and tight nature of the early vocal performance. then the second was almost a mockery of that release, as something not necisery when the potentual has already been realised through the pushing of limits within time and sonic space. However a loving mockery, struggleing with a sack of potatos (play by Jarrad Zlatic), the social realism extends as a tread with my throughing of a camping stall out the door at hastely exiting JZ.

As a result of haveing two art shows (rm103 (auckland)enjoy(wellington), i only ended up doing two MofFarFarRah performances; Monthorah on the 6/6/06 and a performance at my openning in wellington. But they went real well.

Auckland is often refered to as the sydney, but there is definately a element of hobart too, so little anxiousness compared to melbourne, and so lush socially and nature wise. sriwhana spong's peace mantra, and dan arp's a centre for ants at art space waere almost as amazing as both of them. Saw birchville cat motel and some other great bands all in an amazing 4.4 timeing or something, a weird new zealand timeing/rythum aproach.

This fells a little like a school report so i might wrap it up, awesome peeps, places, sounds, signs, traffic lights, hedgehogs, sri, dan, gywn, dannel, nick, kate, andrew, mel, courtney, jessica, waren, adam, emma, dannel, james, everyone else, junk shops, rock sculptures, dome, flats, big pin, legal party pills, chi.

Being that the 7th of the 7th is my birthday, this monthora is some what close to my heart. However there is a really good openning on at gertrude street, festuring a bunch of fawlk, including Helen Johnson. So ive desidered to do it there (it will therefore be accapella, not unlike my peformance at bus last tuesday) at 7 for most probs 7minutes unless i get chicken in which case it might be more like 77seconds, or even 7.7 seconds. No matter, it will hopefully open a workhole and fell like a 7years.

Whats the deal with the last 2 month o rahs you may well ask, and probaly rightfully so.... But whatever! Month o rah and time for that matter are not something punctuated by grandure. tIME and mothorah are not absolutes and don't always happen or happen to plan... this is not an excuse. this is a celbration of the " fracturing " of time that has and hasn't taken place, the destruction of the number sistem, the abliteration of performance as one off event.

But Month o5-5-06 Rah will however be in standard terms a 5minute performance at 5pm on the 5th of the 5th 06, and not unlike monthorah 3:10 13-03-06 willl be accapella. V.T.B.A

MONTH 060606ORAH will take place in Auklang NZ, posibly at RM103 gallery (were i have an openning on the 8th) and will envolve the summoning of satan from a volcaino (or something 666y like that)

Month o rah 04 _ 04_ 06 comes at the end of a heaps busy time for me, and thus like the enitial plan for monthOrah 03-03-06 will happen were i am at the time (4pm "4" 4minutes)(this will probally be in the citty as i will be doing photo copies for "psychic tables"on MusicYourMindWillLoveYou by Paeces (a band im in), and may be an un autharized instore at missing link of synasethia).

I do also plan to do a 4am performance which will go for 4 seconds and feature on the up coming MofFarFarRah realease on sabatical cdr label...........

Well Addelaide was a pretty clustered afair, although i did a 33second drum solo on the table of our cabin in the addalaide caravan park, i did miss the planned 3am performance........

But then the opertunity to redeame a lose relation with time came up. A show at Order & progress presented by Clubs of work hosted by cuckoo, from the silver clouds (awesum NZ artists) (show up till friday). The openning being on the 13/3 i choose to perfom at 3:10, it seemed right. A ten minute performance of un affected voice, acoustic. welled with nerves personally it felt timeless.

There will be a new realese by me (moth tha tha rah), in the comeing month or so. includeing matterial from degererationalClapse recordings (pile up track edition of 1 releases) remastered, but still analogue, and other fresh material. Also a compisite recording of friends kettles (tea break rmx). It will be released on new CDR label (: Sabbatical: which looks set to release some pretty sweet and intresting discs.

The name will probbaly be "Moth tha tha rah" by mof far far rah.

The other realease will be intitled "mOf hOp rAh" by Moth tha tha rah, and will be a more upbeat affair, in the vain of the hip hop jon-rah. It be realeased on the cosmic Inverted Crux.. ...In the not too distant future, watch out!!!!!!

Month o rah 3 is slowly aproaching, but before it is over won't be long either. Taking place within a radius 3km of rundal mall S.A., and taking inspiration from the bumpy and spiratic serface of the stand that has been created by spiros for in collabiration with my Japaztec playdoh objects(in the addelade bidegnarly, openning that night). It will microflate down to pebble leighth 33seconds to be presise, but in width it will agrivate into a sea of agragate at the wee hour of 3am(eternal))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

I have seen many amazing Grey Daturas shows, and i can understand why they would expose the soures of the evolution of drone (eg sonic youth, melvins, 8o's and 90's stonner indie), and i apresiate how they layed this out in a flat expansive way. But i prefure when they expand up and down as well(?) i may sound harsh but rock n' rool needs expanding in genneral, so i don't think GD are not pushing some bounderies. Aggents were great more messy than at pony but still good. It was nice to see classic two dude loud noise, but it was a relic, and boring. Night terrors reminded me why i was glad that the circus metal of the late 90's had died, worst band.

MIA in comparison was great, and pushed the limitations of social political boundries in a more pop and simplistic way, but it was real fun and productive. What can i get for $1 any thing you want, what can i get for no $ anything you want! What MIA does has become a schtick within grime/garrage/bhagra but she is pushing her self, were as the gig at the tote flatlined limits sonicly. so whateves

here is my version of the artickulating space invite

My space was way articulated prior to the first A S event i attended, with the flatness of a dry hot day wirling into a rainless storm that for some reason made my nose bleed profusly!

When we got to the corner hotel Baxter/ Pateris(?)/brown ect had started, they where really good, there was posibly to much intention and confidence in there splurts and spluters, but it's over all flow was beutifully layered and did articulate a spaciality of time. Borgbot was a consise libary of distortion noise and insidental digital output both visually as audioly. But it was sonicly flat and to quiet to have much impact. two people with names played saxaphone and rolling small sound voice, it was real nice, there was an uncomfortable 80's sound art feel (ala laurie anderson (yuk)) but this made it more intresting and the voclists hand on hips stance made it a quite delicate assult of noises we all make to pass time (not unlike moffarfarrah in a way). It was the best performance of Frances Plaque i had seen, although the Giles / barret feel is up my alley there indie pop schtick kind of seems a little undeveloped, but this might be because im not really into that type of thing. some really nice bits though......And Pita was amazing the best dance set i have seen but completely undanceable, fuck articulating space, he distroyed and souperfy (made like soup) space. a full sonic feild with great depth and scope, a blast.

The next thursday at pony peter rehenberg (pita) did a dj set that was like a really good mixtape filtered through pita's back catalog. The guy from the necks and other people from other things and places played a really considered grind free jazz set (this sounds slighty contridictory but they pulled it off), with solos and a trad jazz overveiw. Agents of abhorrance were awesome, really tight thrash grind, with the reasent addition of a new vocalist with a less tight sound that added a messy spazz scremo fell over the top, best set ive seen from them.

Articulating space has its good and bad points but im glad i went and is begining to sound like a school report so i will stop typing now.

oh yeah did i mention month <> rah 2/2/06 this thursday 2pm and 5:45pm

I GOT ROOTS 2 BY the boredoms off slsk the other day and wondered about what extra freedom the roots seires alowed the boredoms, i concluded that it wasn't that much, that it was ( haveing heard only 1,2 and 6) an outlet for directionlessness and throw awayness, Not that they are not good but they are more concentrated bursts that considered long experiances. (Freedom in this context is meant to mean a capasity to extend in as many directions as posible, in a considered, yet lose way. Not just another word for nothing left to do)

This got me thinging of where Month o ra fitted into the practice of MOfFARFARRAH. I hope that it can acheive a freedom which the time restraints of mofffarrrarrahraaah regular sets don't have , although i do try to push time outward in this context, extending sets to hours or weeks pushes the time in a more concrete way, along with pushing the drone into an excepted machine hum.

And also hopefully performing an extended moment will enhance the experiance of momentary moments, while encompasing its multi directions in an ambling way that opens up a multitude of spaces of freedom within and inbetween. Cause really the month was already there before, the o))- rah. The o-rah is a non linear extention that is just a posibility realised (there are many more, as im sure you are aware.).

the first MONTHORAH performance will take place on the 01/01/06 at 1am, at a private house party in in the northern suburbs. it will see a tanned me back from my sunny hexmas in coughs habour (hopefully spent without my cough/flu) take to the stage/couch and challange the fabric of time. One off cassete releases, made by evolutionary calapse of audio tracks on a 4track recorder. each recording 1 of the 4 tracks is taped over (each tape containing 2 different recordings) , then each 4th recording is entirely new.

these recordings were part of my exhibition Happy Hard Haunted Haus at clubs project, but are now avalble for exchange ( prefraibly for $15cash). Although the cassetes are one of they are copywrite free, and are free property when in the hands of there new "keeper" (this is starting to sound a little Dungeons & Dragons conceptual art) and i would love if they were released or lent or re-configured.

MONTH O RAH, is a mof far far rah performance of which is on the day of the month that has the same number as the month that it is asigned, eg 01/01/06, as well as this, it will be at the time with the same numerical value, eg 01/01/06 at 1am (or pm for that mater). I am aiming to post a calander with all the dates, but this will come later.

The first performance is indeed at 1am on the 01/01/06, ther is no fixed location as yet, and it might infact be in transit(?).

The middle of this cycle will represent all the performances as actually being the one compasition, by haveing a loop play out for the entirity of the month inbetween 06/06/06 (the number of the beast) and 07/07/06. At eather end intensive amounts of differents sounds will be expelled.This will hopefully all take place at clubs project.

Don't Think Of Piglets Forrageing For Truffles (in the undergrowth)

This, the album artwork for DTOPFFT(ITU) the first LP (cd) from Mof far far rah, it is to be avalable next week(hopefully). This is becomeing quite a commercial blog, and although it bothers me slightly, im sure once i get the internet on at home it will plunge in to the philosisfick depths of the Mof FarFarRah multiverse.

Anyhow the contence of dont think of piglets is almost an hour listenning, recorded between 2004 and 2005. The post production is by matthew brown, as is the Cove of the Ken Can Kant re-working"moss moles". It is somewhat of a beehive of activity pressed into the interia of your ear. With a push and pull that contains you, yet it is stream like and passes by the ear like olive oil imbeded with broken pottery. Including highlights such i wanta get high (merzbong rmx) extended epic re- add on. A re-working of the cypress hill clasik "i want to get high" in the style of merzbow to start with, then contiueing into a country doom drone slaughtered by a cyclone of sparows.
The album both takes you on a mystical journey at the sametime as keeping you close to home, boarded up in a uni-bomer style shack in brunswick your own heavy breath pounding in your ears like the swell of a sea cave.

MFFR one off cassettes will be one element of a show i am haveing at clubs involving the work of special guests: James Deutsher, KainPicken& Rob McKenzie, Jane Caught, Nick Mangan, Cove Of The Ken Can Kant, Bianca Hester, Masato Takasaka, Nick Selenitsch, Annie Wu, Mathew Griffin, Alex Vivian, Harriet Morgan and more.

The moffarfarrah cassetes will be presented at a listenning station, they have been recorded on 4track on to opshop chinese pop cassettes.
Each is an origional, haveing a track or removed and recorded on each release. Thus this cyclical release(s) changes and stays the same, making it the one track as well as many, and singular momentary releases.
